TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo men's golf team will travel to Aurora, Ohio this weekend to participate in the 2019 Mid-American Conference Championships. The Rockets will be one of nine schools competing for the opportunity to play in the 2019 NCAA Regionals.
The three-day event will be held on Friday-Sunday, April 26-28Â at the par-72, 7,202-yard Club Walden. Thirty-six holes will be played on Friday with 18 holes scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
 "The team continues to show improvement and has made some positive strides throughout the season," Head Coach
Jeff Roope said. "We've played a tough schedule (#74 nationally) on tough courses this season and I believe we are prepared to face a demanding course like Club Walden. The team is confident in their preparation and ready to now compete"
Toledo's opening-round tee times on Friday will be at 8:30 am, 8:46 am, 8:54 am, 9:10 am and 9:18 am.
THE FIELD
• Nine schools are participating in the MAC Championships.
• Kent State has won the last three MAC Championships and has won a conference-best 25 tourney titles. The Golden Flashes are ranked No. 89 in Golfstat's national rankings followed by Eastern Michigan (109), Ball State (138), Miami (139), Northern Illinois (140), Bowling Green (163), Toledo (169), Akron (196) and Ohio (197).

• The Rockets have won three league crowns in school history in 1964, 2002 and 2004. Toledo also posted runner-up finishes in 2013 and 2015.
• UT features a balanced lineup with five Rockets posting 76.0 stroke averages or lower. Godfrey leads the way with a 74.7 scoring mark and is followed by McNeill (75.0), Amm (75.3) Fathi (75.4) and Lind (75.7).
LOOKING BACK AT THE ROBERT KEPLER INTERCOLLEGIATE
• Toledo concluded its regular season last weekend with a seventh-place finish at Ohio State's Robert Kepler Intercollegiate, finishing ahead of MAC foes Ball State, Kent State, Miami and Northern Illinois. McNeill tied for fifth place at one-over par 143 (70-73) to lead the Rockets on OSU's par-71, 7,455-yard Scarlet Course. Junior

• The winning team at the 2019 MAC Championships will qualify for NCAA Regionals action on May 12-15. The 2019 regional sites are in Pullman, Wash.; Stanford, Calif.; Murrells Inlet, S.C.; Simpsonville, Ky.; Athens, Ga.; and Austin, Texas.
