Toledo, Ohio - The Toledo women's soccer team has been selected to finish sixth in the Mid-American Conference as predicted by the annual coaches poll, the league announced today.
Kent State is predicted to win the MAC Tournament along with the regular-season title, earning 134 points and eight first-place votes. Ball State was picked to finish second, with the Cardinals earning 119 points. Bowling Green was tabbed to finish third with 114 points, followed by Buffalo (111) and Central Michigan (81).
Toledo earned 74 points for sixth place, followed by Eastern Michigan (70), Ohio (65) and Western Michigan (58). The preseason poll was rounded out by Akron and Northern Illinois both earning 40 points, and Miami garnering 30.
The Golden Flashes received six votes to win the MAC Championship title. Buffalo, Ball State, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Toledo and Western Michigan all earned one vote.
The Rockets open the 2018 season this Friday when the team travels to Xavier for a 7:00 p.m. matchup.
