Rockets Seek to Defend Home Turf Against Penguins

Toledo, Ohio — The University of Toledo women's tennis team will face Youngstown State in its second home match of the season at Shadow Valley Tennis Center on Friday, Feb. 2 at 1:00 p.m.
The Rockets (2-2) return home after a hard-fought 5-2 defeat vs. Duquesne on Saturday and a 4-3 triumph against Cleveland State in Cleveland on Sunday. Senior Sidnay Huck and junior Kokoro Chishaki led the Rockets to victory, each winning their singles matches and teaming up for victory No. 1 doubles.

"I've been happy with the start to our season so far this winter. The student-athletes came back ready to work and compete," said Toledo head coach Tracy Mauntler. "Claire (Aleck) and Sidnay have been doing a great job leading the team and also helping Koko and Thalita (Rodrigues) adjust to Division I student-athlete life. We have talked a lot so far this season about synergy and how the team working together as a unit is always bigger and better than the combined individual efforts of eight players. We look to get better at that every time we step on the court."
