Toledo Splits Twinbill with Eastern Michigan

Toledo, OH - Toledo wrapped up its 2004 campaign with a doubleheader split vs. Eastern Michigan this afternoon at Scott Park. The Rockets posted a 2-1 (8 inn.) victory in the opener before falling by a 4-1 margin in the nightcap.
Freshman Stephanie Moore earned the win in the opener and evened her win-loss record at 12-12 by allowing one run and scattering seven hits in her 17th complete game of the season.
EMU's Nikki Denman (6-7) took the loss after yielding two runs and eight hits in a complete-game effort.
Toledo plated the winning run in the eighth inning on a suicide squeeze bunt.
In the nightcap, the Eagles tallied three runs in the third inning and one in the fourth inning en route to their 4-1 win.
The Rockets' lone run came on freshman CF Erica Singer's RBI single in the fourth inning. Junior 2B Kristina Schultz led UT's offense by going 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, while freshman RF Denise Van Vossen collected a pair of hits.
