George Machoukas won four varsity letters in football, 1951-54. He played on offense as a center and defense as a tackle, George also handled kickoff duties. He only missed 30 minutes of play his junior year and a mere 11 minutes as a senior. George co-captained both the 1953 and 1954 teams. He was second-team All-MAC as a junior and first-team All-MAC as a senior as well as first-team All-Ohio. George was voted by the fans as the greatest center on the all-time UT football team. Machoukas played briefly with the Green Bay Packers in 1955. He served as an assistant coach at Scott and Bowsher High Schools, later became head coach at Bowsher leading them to a 1969 City League championship.
